Here at Gilbertson and Page we are strong advocates of feeding chicken to dogs. Tasty, aromatic and full of nutrients, chicken is a great ingredient to include.

Did you know there is more protein in chicken than other meats like beef, lamb or pork? And the quality of the protein is good as well, packing in all 9 essential amino acids that dogs need: arginine, glycine, histidine, leucine, lysine, isoleucine, methionine, cystine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan and valine.

Whilst chicken is a lean meat, the fats present provide a great source of omega 6 and smaller amounts of omega 3’s as well, all essential fats that dogs need.

Chicken is also rich in B vitamins, key minerals like iron, zinc and copper and provides a natural source of glucosamine, which can help support and maintain healthy joints.
