Modern Day Slavery Policy

Policy Statement

Modern Day Slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. Modern slavery takes many forms including: Human Trafficking, Forced Labour, Bonded Labour, Child Slavery and Servitude.

At Gilbertson and Page, we are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships and to ensuring that our operations and supply chain are free from modern slavery and human trafficking. We take our responsibilities under the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 seriously and have implemented the following measures to prevent and address any instances of modern slavery:

  • We maintain a zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery and human trafficking and expect all our employees, suppliers, and contractors to comply with this policy. This policy applies to all persons working for us or on our behalf in any capacity.

  • We conduct due diligence on our suppliers and contractors to ensure compliance with our Supplier Code of Conduct and to confirm that they do not engage in any form of modern slavery, servitude, human trafficking or forced or compulsory labour. We expect our suppliers to hold their own suppliers to the same high standards.

  • We require signatures from all our suppliers and contractors to state that they comply with our Supplier Code of Conduct, which includes provisions on human rights, labour standards, and anti-slavery measures.

  • We provide training to our employees on modern slavery and human trafficking to raise awareness and ensure that they know how to identify and report any suspected cases of modern slavery.

We are committed to acting ethically and to continuously improve our anti-slavery measures.

We will review and update our policies and procedures as necessary to ensure that we meet our obligations under the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Compliance With This Policy

The prevention, detection, and reporting of modern slavery in any part of our business or supply chain is the responsibility of all those working for us, or under our control. Colleagues can raise potential modern slavery concerns if they believe a breach of this policy has occurred or may occur in the future.

We may terminate our relationship with individuals and organisations working on our behalf if they breach this policy.

Due Diligence

Gilbertson and Page maintains comprehensive policies and procedures designed to prevent and address modern slavery and human trafficking.

Our onboarding procedure follows the Home Office guidance. Right to work checks are conducted to ensure that our employees are lawfully in the UK and have the right to work. Action is taken if any issues are identified.

We evaluate and assess our supply chain on an ongoing basis to identify and mitigate potential risks related to modern slavery and human trafficking in terms of compliance with the Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Act 2015. Our commitment to responsible business practices extends to our entire supply chain, including suppliers, contractors, and partners. We reserve the right to terminate a contract at any time should any instances of modern slavery come to light.

Our supply chain is primarily UK-based, which is generally recognised as being at lower risk of Modern Slavery issues.

Communication And Awareness Of This Policy

Awareness of this policy forms part of the induction process for all individuals who work for us. Our zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery will be communicated to all suppliers, contractors, and business partners at the outset of our business relationship with them and reinforced as appropriate thereafter.

Continuous Improvement

Gilbertson and Page is committed to continuously improving its efforts to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking. We regularly review and update our policies, practices, and due diligence procedures to address emerging risks and challenges. We are committed to eradicating modern slavery and will work to ensure that our business practices align with this commitment.

This Statement, as of 7th October 2024, is approved by the Board of Directors of Gilbertson and Page and is signed on behalf of the Company.
